Five-Star Quarterback Chooses Crimson and Cream

Arnold, the No. 42-Ranked Prospect Overall, Projects as High-Major Starter

Norman, Okla. - Oklahoma Sooners quarterback commit Jackson Arnold has cemented his status as the top quarterback in Texas for the 2023 recruiting cycle. Arnold, a junior in the ESPN Junior 300, has committed to the Sooners over numerous other high-profile programs, including the Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies.

Arnold, who stands at 6'1" and weighs 190 pounds, is a prototypical modern-day quarterback. He possesses a strong arm, excellent footwork, and the ability to make plays both inside and outside the pocket. Arnold is also a natural leader and has a high football IQ.

"Jackson Arnold is a special player," said Oklahoma Sooners head coach Brent Venables. "He has all the tools to be a great quarterback in this league. We are thrilled that he has chosen to join our program and we look forward to watching him grow and develop over the next few years."

Arnold is the latest in a long line of elite quarterbacks to commit to the Oklahoma Sooners. In recent years, the Sooners have produced Heisman Trophy winners Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray, as well as NFL stars Jalen Hurts and Trevor Knight.

Arnold's commitment is a major win for Venables and his staff. The Sooners are looking to rebuild their program after a disappointing 2022 season, and Arnold is a key piece of that puzzle. With Arnold leading the charge, the Sooners are poised to make a run at the College Football Playoff in the years to come.
